On Sunday, April 27, 2025, the Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos will explore the heart of the Sitia region, together with the Nature-Loving Mountaineering Club of Sitia.
Here’s how the members describe the route:
“We’ll begin at the village of Papagiannades, where we’ll leave our cars, and hike uphill through the abandoned settlement of Loutraki and the Venetian villa of Etia. We’ll then walk across the fertile Armenochantrades Plateau, blooming with flowers this time of year, passing charming chapels and ruined hamlets.”
DURATION: 4–5 hours
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: 1
DISTANCE: Approximately 13 km
LEADER: Maria Yalizi
INFO: Maria Metzogiannaki (tel. +30 6973363701)
