Armenoi is a traditional village worth exploring, full of history and peaceful charm.

Dotted with old churches, the village offers a quiet, authentic Cretan experience close to Rethymno.

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with a real "Cretan feel," Armenoi might be just the place.

For history buffs, the Late Minoan cemetery of Armenoi, nestled in a beautiful oak forest, is a must-see.

Dating back to the 13th and 12th centuries BC, the site is open in the mornings and offers a fascinating glimpse into the island's ancient past.

When hunger strikes, head to Alekos Cretan Cuisine, a family-run taverna where the flavors of Crete come alive.

Don’t miss the pork with wild greens, chestnut potatoes, or local specialties like snails (chochlious) and zucchini blossoms. The pork with bulbs is another standout dish, offering a true taste of the region.

After your meal, make your way to Rethymno, a city that bursts with energy, especially during the summer months.

It’s a university town, so you’ll find plenty of young people enjoying the cafes and bars.

For a relaxed evening, grab a drink at one of the many spots overlooking the Venetian harbor, where the lively ambiance will sweep you away.
