Magoulas: A Village at 900 Metres and More
ABOUT
The village of Magoulas is worth a visit for its view alone.
Its highest house sits at an elevation of more than 900 metres.
Nestled amidst trees and surrounded by groves, it stands as one of the most picturesque villages on the Lassithi Plateau.
Simultaneously, it offers a sweeping panoramic view of the Lassithi plain.
In Magoulas, Minoan tombs have been recently discovered on the village outskirts. The village is traversed by a rural road that leads to the scenic Kloros valley. This valley was once cultivated by the villagers and yielded a range of agricultural products, including almonds, wine, and wheat.
