Gerontomouri Cave

A few years back, when the ring road of the Lassithi Plateau was constructed, a cave filled with bones and skulls was unexpectedly uncovered. This intriguing discovery occurred to the north of the village of Agios Charalambos and garnered attention at the time.

According to the official website of the Municipality, the cave was promptly sealed off upon its discovery. However, despite the passage of several years, the competent archaeological service has not taken any action to unveil the historical secrets that lie within.
