Established in 1978 by the Cultural Association of Eastern Crete, the Folklore Museum of Agios Nikolaos is situated in a bustling street of the town, adjacent to the Tourist Information Office and the Voulismeni Lake. Its exhibits of genuine Cretan art offer a superb portrayal of traditional Cretan life.
The Folklore Museum boasts a distinctive collection comprising primarily of handmade textiles, featuring original embroidery and designs. The museum also showcases ancient sacred icons, carved wooden artefacts, and manuscripts. The impressive collection of artifacts from the Ottoman era in Crete includes old photographs, coins, and weapons, rounding out this exceptional display
