Stop #1: Theriso

Just 15 km south of Chania, you’ll find Theriso, a small, semi-mountainous village with an air of another era.

In the village square, the statue of Eleftherios Venizelos, Greece's beloved national leader, stands in pride.

The Museum-Headquarters of the Theriso Revolution stirs memories of the past—don’t miss the original revolutionary flag from 1905 with “Theriso 1905” emblazoned on it!

In about half an hour, you’ll reach Chania.

The city’s beauty is endless, with landmarks on every corner, from the Venetian era to the Ottoman Empire.

For food, we’ve found a spot that’s not too touristy, a local favorite for those in the know: Evgnonia, where you can savor baked bonito in parchment, fish soup, or braised squid!
