Windsurfing in Palekastro
ABOUT
Palekastro serves as a focal point for surf enthusiasts and those who simply want to savour their coffee while observing those who partake in this beloved water sport.
In the vicinity of Palekastro, the ‘Meltemi’ wind is particularly fierce due to thermal currents and the geographical features of the area. This results in an additional 2 Beaufort of wind on the surface. Consequently, Kouremenos Bay becomes one of the most consistently windy locations in Europe, with an average of 20-28 windy days per month from April to October.
Τhe bay offers tranquil and crystal-clear waters close to the shore, thanks to the onshore winds. This makes it a perfect spot for beginners to learn windsurfing and also for more experienced surfers who want to practise or master new moves.
