The famous cafes in Vasiliki Ierapetra
ABOUT
The village of Vasiliki is famous for its cafes!
It is located in the narrowest part of Crete, between Ierapetra and Agios Nikolaos.
As the Municipality of Ierapetra reports, in the village, after systematic and in-depth excavations, great archaeological findings were found that are considered of great importance in determining the early Minoan technology. Some clay vessels were so special that their rhythm was named after the village, since nowhere else had similar ones been found.
The visitor can see the Minoan settlement at the site of "Kefali" and the ruins of an early Christian church (4th-6th century) at the site of Venetsanos.
