Loutro: A Coastal Paradise in Sfakia
ABOUT
The distant view of Loutro evokes a sense of nostalgia, depicting a small fishing village prepared to welcome thousands of visitors during the summer months. Located about 15-20 minutes by boat from Sfakia, accommodation is limited, and those who plan to visit should act promptly, as should those seeking to dine in the tavernas.
Loutro is situated on the southern coast of Crete, nestled between Agia Roumeli and Chora Sfakion, with the White Mountains rising to the north. Positioned approximately 70 kilometres south of Chania, Loutro is positioned amphitheatrically in the eastern cove of a bay formed by Cape Moures or Mouri. At the entrance of the bay, a rocky islet adds to the scenic landscape.
To the east of the village lie the beaches of Keramos, Timios Stavros (1 km), and Glyka Nera. Additionally, there is another small beach in front of the village.
