Cretan Mountaineering Club of Lasithi
The Cretan Mountaineering Club of Lasithi (EOS Lasithiou) is based in Agios Georgios Lasithiou.
It is a member of the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing.
It has a mountain shelter at an altitude of 1350 meters in the location of Anestasi, below the peak of Strovili, above the Plateau of Limnakaro.
The shelter was built on land provided by the community of Avrakonte in 1992.
Its members strive to introduce the public to winter sports, mountaineering, with ascents and climbing.
EOS Lasithiou also organizes sports competitions.
However, what primarily unites its members is their love and respect for the mountainous nature.
