Nature

Chrysi Island is like paradise, but its natural ecosystem needs protection.

So, from 1st May to 31st October 2024, visitors are not allowed to disembark on the island from any type of vessel, and only designated beaches are accessible under specified terms and conditions.

Access to the inland areas of the island is typically restricted, and specifically, entry into the zone of absolute protection, which includes sand dunes with rare shrubby vegetation such as junipers (Juniperus spp), is not permitted within the protected area.

Please note that failure to comply with the regulations mentioned above will lead to penalties.

Certainly, as per a decision from the Ministry of Culture, Pelegrina and Voufiou Mati beaches on Chrysi are exempted from the concession of simple beach use for the 2023-2025 period. There won't be any visitor service facilities on the island during this time.
