Venerato Outdoor Sculpture Gallery

The outdoor sculpture gallery is situated in Venerato, a suburb of the municipality of Heraklion, located 20 kilometres away from it.

The suburb's name is Venetian, and this area was one of the largest settlements in the province.

The gallery commenced its operations in 2006 with the international sculpture symposium, which stands as a significant institution within the municipality of Heraklion.

In this gallery, sculptors from Greece and various other countries craft their works using Cretan limestone and marble, showcasing their creations in front of the public.

Both young and old can observe the transformation of raw marble volumes into works of art.

Art lessons are also conducted concurrently, and music concerts are held at the conclusion of the symposium.
