Pine (Peykon) Caves

Sitia presents visitors with an abundance of adventurous possibilities.
Located to the north of Makris Gialos and within the territorial region of Pefki village, you will find two significant cave formations adorned with beautiful decorations. One is the relatively accessible Apaloustra cave, and the other is the intriguing Latsida Vreikou cave, where traces of Neolithic habitation have recently been uncovered.
