Avgeniki: The Land of Nobility
ABOUT
In the picturesque village of Avgeniki, situated within the Municipality of Heraklion, you can find two ancient watermills.
The village was initially documented under the name Evgeniki (Noble) in 1391, in a record from the Ducal Archive. Since 1577, it has been consistently recorded in every census conducted in Crete. Avgeniki is surrounded by lush vineyards and benefits from a water supply sourced from local springs through an internal aqueduct.
Visitors can take a scenic route through natural beauty, encountering two historic bridges along the way before reaching a picturesque old fountain.
