Rodakino: Divided by a Gorge, United by Spectacular Views
ABOUT
As one of the largest villages in South Rethymno, Rodakino graces two hills in an amphitheatrical setting.
Unfortunately, its history carries the scars of the past, as the village was tragically burned on 20th August 1943 by the occupying Germans.
The gorge situated in the area serves as a natural divider, creating Ano and Kato Rodakino—two distinct parts of the village. Despite this division, both sections offer a magnificent view of the Libyan Sea.
The coastal front of Rodakino unfolds with three beautiful beaches located a few kilometres south of the village: Korakas, Polyrizos, and the secluded Peristeres Beach, featuring a renowned canteen.
Within the village, you'll find a selection of rooms to let, tavernas, supermarkets, and more.
