Prinos Refuge
ABOUT
Nestled at an elevation of 1,100 metres, along the eastern foothills of Mt Psiloritis, the refuge of the Mountaineering Club of Heraklion awaits exploration.
Taking its name from its location, the refuge is situated in Prinos.
Accessible solely on foot, the refuge can be reached via the E4 European Path.
After parking the car in the village of Ano Asites, a roughly one-hour hike along a well-marked path, following both trail markers and the signs of the E4 path, will lead you to the refuge.
Continuing along the path from the refuge, you can reach the Rouvas Forest in 5 hours and the Nida Plateau in 8 hours. Notable peaks in the vicinity include Koudouni (1,860 m) and Gyristi (1,779 m).
As detailed by EOS Heraklion, the refuge is open for visits and overnight stays.
