Kokkinos Pyrgos: A Picturesque Coastal Village

ABOUT

Here one can enjoy magical sunsets.

Kokkinos Pyrgos is a seaside resort overlooking the Libyan Sea, Agia Galini, and the small islands known as Paximadia.

The settlement of Kokkinos Pyrgos (= Red Tower) derived its name from the presence of a tower that once stood in the area, constructed using red soil.

In front of the village stretches a long sandy beach, which serves as a nesting ground for the endangered Caretta Caretta sea turtles.

West of Kokkinos Pyrgos, there is a small harbour that serves as a starting point for boat excursions to the neighbouring beaches.

Visitors to the area have a wide range of dining options to choose from, as well as numerous archaeological sites to explore. Additionally, nature lovers can enjoy the various trails in the area, allowing them to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings.
