Folklore Museum of Spili
ABOUT
The Folklore Museum in Spili was established by the members of the Spili Women's Cultural Association with the goal of preserving and promoting the local folk traditions. They have carefully gathered objects that are slowly disappearing from everyday life.
Visitors can explore how the local residents once cooked, as well as view traditional items such as looms, an old iron, woven fabrics, garments, uniforms, nightgowns, and underwear. The museum also showcases what a cobbler's workshop looked like decades ago. One of the most fascinating exhibits is how people used to store food in the days before refrigerators became common in every household.
The collection continues to grow, with new items being added regularly.
From April to October, the museum is open from 10 AM to 6 PM. During the winter months, visits can be arranged by contacting Ms. Nektaria Vrylaki at +30697 332 1176.
