Excursion for diving at Spinalonga by Creta's Happy Divers
ABOUT
A short distance from the island-port of Spinalonga, approximately 100 metres to the north, you'll discover a picturesque and shallow small bay. The dive begins at a depth of 8 metres and as you swim northward towards deeper waters, you'll encounter a striking seabed characterised by a mix of large rocks and sand formations.
The maximum depth at this site reaches 15 metres, and along the route, you'll traverse a gorge measuring 15-20 metres in length and 7-8 metres in depth, featuring a small cave at its centre. During your dive here, you'll encounter schools of amberjack, snapper, and other fish, with the specific species varying depending on the time of year. While there's a chance to encounter turtles and dolphins, it's worth noting that such sightings are quite rare. In this diving site, you have the freedom to explore the water in any direction you desire, depending on where you encounter the fish.
