The Region of Crete is subdivided into four regional units.
The Region of Crete constitutes one of the 13 administrative regions of Greece. It encompasses the main island of Crete along with several smaller islands, including Gavdos, Gavdopoula, Dia, Chrissi, Koufonissi, and the islands of Dionysades.
The Region encompasses four (4) regional units: Heraklion, Lassithi, Rethymno, and Chania. It spans a total area of 8,303 sq. kilometres, boasting a coastline stretching 1,046 kilometres and reaching a maximum altitude of 2,456 metres at the summit of Psiloritis.
