In the welcoming grounds of the Holy Monastery of Timios Prodromos Kallergi in Kastelli Pediados, members of the Festival of Cretan Cuisine Association revived a traditional Cretan custom linked to Epiphany, known as "Fotokoliva."

This custom involves a fasting recipe prepared by homemakers on the day of the Lesser Blessing of the Waters, to be consumed the following day along with the holy water. The recipe consisted of boiled seeds and legumes such as wheat, chickpeas, lentils, beans, and other pulses. The dish served as the meal of the day, while portions were also offered to animals and birds, ensuring every creature partook in the blessing. Every step of its preparation and consumption was accompanied by reverence and prayer.

The event saw the participation of FE.K.K. leadership Lena Igoumenaki and Angeliki Prinari, along with members Lampros Vamvakas, Despina Merkoulidou, Maria Nistikaki, Maria Karouzaki, Maria Koutsantonaki, Pelagia Karouzaki, Maria Kalykaki, Aristea Apostolaki, Argyro Maravelaki, and Voula Karouzaki.
