Explore the serene and wild beauty of Gramvousa, a true gem of Crete!
ABOUT
Agria Gramvousa is situated to the north of the cape, and it is challenging to access. It has been incorporated into the Natura network, along with the broader region, due to its rocky terrain, which serves as a habitat for seagulls and various bird species.
Conversely, Imeri Gramvousa is a readily accessible island featuring a small port. Aside from its beautiful beach, it is home to the Venetian castle. To the south, two expansive bays are formed, with a shipwreck lying between them. The ship's carcass has now become an integral part of the landscape. In line with the preservation of the natural environment, there is no infrastructure, and these areas are not suitable for individuals with disabilities.
Ferries to Balos-Gramvousa depart from Kissamos daily. The ferry journey lasts approximately one hour and can also be undertaken by car, bus, or boat rental.
