Under the title “Lines of Voyages and Dreams”, Yiannis Zacharakis presents his solo art exhibition, hosted at the Heraklion Municipal Art Gallery – Basilica of St. Mark. The opening will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 7:00 PM, and the exhibition will remain open to the public until January 7, 2025.

The exhibition invites visitors on a soulful and emotional journey through an expressionist interplay of design and color, capturing the artist’s experiences, thoughts, and memories.

As painter Nikos Karakonstantis notes:
"With bold lines and a rich color palette, Yiannis Zacharakis explores the ‘voyage lines’ of his life—the paths we all choose and the borders that define us. His work blends light and shadow, depicting the balance between existential contrasts and the unending human quest. A central symbol is the waterline at sea, acting as a boundary between the visible and the invisible, reality and dreams. Through his dynamic expressionist style, viewers are invited to explore aspects of themselves, to unearth personal memories and emotions, and to draw inspiration from his allegories of water and human experience.”

Born in Crete, Yiannis Zacharakis passionately portrays his deep connection to the sea and the natural environment of his homeland. This is his third solo exhibition.
