Geropotamos Beach: Nature's Hidden Gem

Geropotamos Beach, situated beneath the prominent bridge, is one of the scenic coastal gems visible when driving along the Heraklion-Rethymno and Rethymno-Heraklion routes. Located approximately 20 kilometres east of Rethymno, this picturesque beach can be found alongside the Geropotamos River.

Geropotamos Beach, although sandy, may not be an ideal choice for families with young children due to its abrupt depth changes. Additionally, its location leaves it susceptible to wind conditions. However, the beach offers sunbeds and parasols, and you can easily access it by car. There is a bar and taverna nearby providing refreshments and meals. It is important to exercise caution and avoid approaching the rocks at the ends of the beach for safety reasons.

To reach Geropotamos Beach, you can take a dirt road that branches off from the motorway.
